In our Martech Insider Newsletter, we highlight a marketing technology each month that deserves attention. For December 2019, we have chosen to focus on SimilarWeb, which offers digital measurement solutions and provides detailed insights into any website or application across numerous industries. Paloma Bernard has kindly agreed to answer our questions.
Hello Paloma, can you describe your positioning?
SimilarWeb is the go-to solution for understanding the digital world. Our intuitive platform and data provide reliable insights on any website and application in over 190 countries and 172 categories. Our solutions help better understand a market, its players, and make better strategic and tactical decisions.
What problems do you solve?
-
We enable marketers to discover growth opportunities across all marketing channels to drive user acquisition, evaluate performance, and analyze audience behavior and market trends to increase their market share.
-
We help sales teams find and analyze websites to grow their sales pipeline, improve their sales pitch, and win more business.
-
We provide investors with visibility on key performance indicators to analyze trends and invest with confidence.
What are the main features?
Our tool provides analysis of:
- Websites
- Industries and rankings
- Keywords
- Funnel and conversion
- Mobile applications
What is your “Killer Feature”?
Our Killer Feature is the ability to know your competitor’s digital strategy in 190 countries. Whether it’s keywords, display, referrals, or more, SimilarWeb can reveal (almost!) everything.
Any interconnections with other tools?
We are constantly working on potential new interconnections. Currently, we have a Salesforce connector and a Google Data Studio connector.
Can you tell us about your API policy?
Our API is a restful API. It is easy to integrate into clients' environments and provides SimilarWeb data at scale. Our endpoints include desktop and mobile web traffic, traffic sources, keywords, website content (such as demographic data), and mobile app data like user engagement metrics.
What is your client onboarding process?
We have a team of Solution Implementation Managers responsible for implementing the solutions and providing training as part of an onboarding package. This package usually lasts four weeks and includes a kickoff meeting, a group orientation session, pilot sessions, and dedicated sessions to show clients how to navigate the platform and find relevant information for their analyses and use cases. The package also includes product customization, such as dashboard creation and API integration assistance. Our Solution Implementation Managers provide support throughout the onboarding package duration.
How is support handled?
All our clients have a dedicated SimilarWeb expert who supports them throughout the year to help them get the most out of the solution. We also have a dedicated technical support team that responds to all customer inquiries.
What are your goals for 2019-2020?
To quote Or Offer, the CEO of SimilarWeb: "We see our expansion in France as a key driver of our clients’ digital transformation and are excited to grow the local team, led by Théo Gaston Dreyfus. The demand for our solutions within our client base is rapidly increasing, and we look forward to contributing to their business development efforts."
How do you see the evolution of your market?
As the market evolves, it becomes increasingly important to use artificial intelligence for making recommendations. We are developing predictive models so that businesses using SimilarWeb can not only estimate what is happening in a market but also predict future trends.
